FO

Just a few pictures of my recent projects.  Still not back into blogging, but baby steps folks!
Just a simple V-day display on the shelf in my hallway.  About $2 invested in this.  I found the Love wooden plaque (actually a picture frame with the heart being the frame) at Michael's for a buck.  Brought it home and painted it.  I bought the clay pots at the Dollar Tree 3 for a buck and painted it.  i used a scrap piece of wooden dowel from a previous (failed) project for the tree trunk and some leftover styrofoam balls from one of my VBS craft projects.  The flowers are construction paper roses.  You know the ones, cut out circles then cut spirals out of the circle, roll up the spiral.  Made a ton of those and hot glued them onto the styrofoam ball.  Hot glue a second ball into the bottom of the pot, glue dowel rod into the ball and add some moss to hide it.  I like how it turned out!

A simple knit stuffie for Princess A.  You can find the pattern at Stitching 'n' Knitting.  You have to scroll down and look on the left hand side for their free patterns and then click the link for Little Hearts.  It is a PDF pattern.  It was my first time casting on this way and using a kitchener stitch.

This little guy got stuffed into an envelope with a V-day card for K.  It is called Grandma Heart and the pattern can be found at The Royal Sisters.  Mine is done in thread and a size 7 (1.65 mm) hook.

This bookmark is a new pattern of mine.  Not sure if I like it or not.  Each tassel has a bead at the bottom.  i do know that I am not fond of the tassel part, to bulky for my taste.  Still, I think H will like it.

And this one is my favorite!  This irascible guy is for Little Man J.  Mr. Sunflowers has requested several for himself as well.  You can't see it well in this pic but the nose pokes out above his mouth also.  The pattern called for google eyes, but the ones i had on hand weren't big enough.  Fortunately I found these eyes from my attempt at a polymer clay doll and put them to use here.  You can find the patter for this guy at  Sandyfroglegs Designs.  The pattern calls for a pierced tongue which isn't going to happen in this house so i left that out.  i also made a few minor alterations to shape the face more to my liking.  He works up larger than he looks with a width of about 2 inches.  I may give him a go in thread and see how that turns out.

Happy Love Day!

Until next time,
